Selecting music
Hello! This week, we worked on the music selection process of our project, and on rehearsing. We haven't been able to film again since last time because some of the actors were unavailable. However, we decided to get other things that didn't involve filming, out of the way. Because of this, we decided to get ahead of the editing process and pick what music we would use in our film. We met through google meets and started discussing what type of music to use. We began by looking at music from films in the same genre. We liked one of the string sounds from the movie Anabelle and decided to search for a similar royalty-free one. We found it and decided we were going to use it at the part the girl read the note, to add suspense and surprise. We also looked at some background music on youtube and found 3 different songs we liked. We haven't decided where each specific song will go yet, but w picked out the scenes that would have the most intense music behind them. For example, the scene when the mom is being chased through the house will have intense music. We will decide where each song and sound goes at another date, or probably while we are editing.
We also decided to get together again to rehearse some scenes. One specific scene that we decided to rehearse, was the scene between the neighbor and the girl. We decided to rehearse that scene because it is the scene with the most dialogue. If we memorize them before we film, things will run smoother. We practised different accents to see which one would fit our characters best, and we decided my character (the neighbor) would sound best with a slightly southern accent. So far, things are going well and our project is right on track.
