Filming and Editing

Hello! This week we did some planning but have not yet started filming. We decided to start filming on March 6th and end around March 13th. We decided to not start filming until later this week because none of us was available sooner. Since the quarter is ending, we have all had tests and specifically, Harlow had a Chemistry test she has been focused on, so she has been busy studying. I was very sick this week, and only recently tested negative for Covid, so I couldn't film either since I wanted to take precautions. Additionally, even though I did test negative for covid, I was still feeling pretty bad so we decided it would just be better if we waited more until I was feeling better. Lastly, Jessica plays volleyball, and she has practice until very late at night, and so even if I were feeling more up for it, our schedules still wouldn't match up until later on.
However, in the meantime, we've been doing as much as we can to decide what we are going to do when we film and edit. We already planned the entire storyline and done research, and Harlow even sent pictures of her house, which we are going to be filming, so we could get a clear picture of exactly how each shot will look.
I've been trying to do research on different editing techniques and different editing software. For the past couple of projects, the editing software I've been using is iMovie. This is the software I know the most about and I'm the most comfortable using, but I wanted to see if there were better options. I looked at Openshot and Clip Champ as possible alternative software. I liked Clip Champ more than Open shot, but since they are both websites and not actual apps on the computer, they were very laggy. There also wasn't a significant difference between those two editing softwares and iMovie. They pretty much accomplish the same results iMovie does. Because of this, I decided I will stick with iMovie, since it is less laggy and I'm already experienced in using it.
We plan to start filming by the end of this week, and I'm very excited to see how the end product turns out.
