Filming Blog for Music Video
Before Thanksgiving break, my group and I decided we would start filming during that week. We planned it this way so we would have plenty of time to edit and take extra shots if we needed them. Unfortunately, this did not end up happening due to many complications from all sides of the group. One of our members flew to Massachusetts unexpectedly to spend the holiday with her family, and she was not able to be present to film. Another of our group members had to quarantine due to their family contracting Covid, and this was through the entirety of the break and the week prior, so she wasn't able to film either. I was also in contact with someone who tested positive for covid, but when my family got tested we were all negative. However, we still had to quarantine just to be sure we did not have it and would not spread it. I was not able to film that week either. The music video required all of us to be present for filming, and it would've been impossible and unfair for the remaining team member to film the video by herself. Because of this, we decided to reschedule to the following week. By then, all of our quarantine periods would be over and our team member would be back from her trip. We decided to film during the week so we would have the weekend free to take any extra shots if we needed them and to edit. This was difficult since many of us have after school activities or other events we had to plan around. However, we found a time we were all available and could meet.
Even though we didn't film during the break, we still kept in touch and made some final decision on the project. We came up with more ideas for the scenes in the video and made a more detailed list of the props and costumes we will use. We also finalized the locations we would film at.
Sadly we encountered a lot of setbacks that prevented us from starting the filming process of our music video, but we were able to come up with a new plan and overcome them. From this, I learned the importance of having a more detailed backup plane in case anything happens. We still have plenty of time to get everything done, and I am confident our music video will turn out great!
