First Scene 

In the first scene of my commercial, the mom will be coming home from the grocery store. She will place the bags on the counter, and as she is unpacking everything she bought, she will yell and tell her kids to come to the kitchen. It will be a midshot. 

Second Scene 

In this scene, the kids will run in and ask their mom if she got what they asked for. She says yes and they look through the bag until they spot the box of Honey Nut Cheerios.  The location for this scene is still the kitchen. They will all be wearing casual clothes. As they run into the kitchen, the shot will be a midshot, and as they look through the grocery bags there will be a high angle. 

Third Scene 

In this scene, the kids will take the honey nut cheerios out of the bag and place it on the counter. They will start arguing about who gets the box and who gets to eat them first. It will be a slight close-up and a shot/reverse shot as they talk. The scene ends with the girl grabbing the box of cheerios and running out of the kitchen with the boy chasing after her. 

Fourth Scene 

In this scene, the girl is running away with the box as the boy is trying to catch her. It will be a mid-shot and the cameras will be tracking them.  There will also be some wide shots. The locations for this scene will be the living room and their room. 

Fifth Scene 

This part of the commercial is when the mom intervenes. She takes the Cheerios box away from them and the kids start arguing telling her to give it back. She tells them to stop and that there is enough for everyone, so they can share. They give in. The location for this scene will be the living room. It will be a mid-shot.

Sixth Scene

In this scene, the kids and the mom will be eating cheerios together.  They will look happy and like they enjoy the cereal a lot. It will be a long shot and at the end, it will zoom into the box of Cheerios. There will be a voiceover of one of the kids saying Honey Nut Cheerio's slogan and the commercial will end. 

- There will be music in some scenes and every scene will be about 4-7 seconds.

Hello! Over the past couple of days, my team and I have been meeting to discuss and add sound to our project.  I thought this would be one of the easiest parts of the process, but I was very wrong. I think this has been one of the hardest aspects of creating our video. We didn't think it would take longer, so we all met on google meets one day like we usually do, and started thinking about which music to use. We all started looking through youtube to find copyright-free sounds we could use, but after about half an hour ago, we realized it was useless. We could only go through one sound at a time since we were doing it together, and it was taking a very long time. Creative Critical Reflection for Honey Nut Cheerios Commercial

     While making my product, I used many food advertisement conventions, since my goal was to make a commercial for a Honey Nut Cheerios, which is a cereal brand. While doing my research, I found out that one of the conventions they use the most is having families or kids in their advertisements. This is because cereal brands like Cheerios' customers are mainly women older than 40 years old with families. Including families in their commercials help them stir feelings and appeal to their demographic. Because of this, I decided to include a family in my commercial too.      Also, I had a mom and her two kids together, and throughout the commercial, they have a conflict over the cheerios. This was one way my commercial challenged conventions. Usually, cereal commercials have kids or families playing together, instead of fighting. Introduction to the Music Video Project

     Today I started the process of producing the music video project. For this project, I decided to work with 3 of my friends who are also taking the media studies class. These are Abigail Koppel, Ashlyn Young and Jessica Guerra.     I chose to work with a group so I would be able to split the amount of work with someone. I chose these people because I have previous experience working with them. At first, I was planning to do it with only one person, but then we all talked about it and decided to work together. We've known each other for years and have worked in many group projects together, so I already know what to expect.  I'm more comfortable working with them since I know they will all work hard and we will end up with a high-quality product.
