 Props

Since I am doing my commercial about the cereal Honey Nut Cheerios, my main props will be the cereal box, a bowl, a bottle of milk, and a spoon.  I will also need a grocery bag since I plan to have the mom unbagging the groceries after getting back from the store.

Costumes

I will have three main people in my commercial, the mom and her two kids. They will be wearing average every-day clothes like for example a  T-shirt, jeans or shorts since my commercial would be aimed towards the average family. They will have little to no make-up and little girl will have her hair up since she will be doing some running. 

Schedule

On 10-22-2020 I will conduct research on cereal commercials to see what conventions are used, and then i will conduct research on Honey Nut cheerios Specifically to see how they do their commercials and what conventions they use. 

On 10-23-2020 I will establish which props, costumes and locations I will use. I will also form a schedule and come up with a backup plan I will follow in case there are any issues. 

On 10-26-2020 I will create a storyboard and will finalize what I want my commercial to look like. I will also check to make sure my commercial meets the 30-second limit. 

On 10-28-2020 I will record all the scenes I had planned for my commercial. I will make sure i got all the shots i wanted and will do re-takes in necessary. I will also write my filming blog. 

On 10-29-2020 I will edit my commercial and finish my commercial. I will also write my editing blog. 

Location list

The main location i will be filiming at is my house. I plan to film the first scene in the kitchen, where one of the actor is unbagging groceries. The other two actors come into the kitchen and get excited when they see the product on the counter. This scene emphasized how delicious the product is, as the kids love it. 

I will also film a scene where the camera follows the two kids through the hosue as they fight over the box, and chase each other to get the box out of the other's hands. 

Backup plan

As a backup plan, if one of my actors is unable to be there, i have a back-up actor who is ready to jump in, or i would be in the commercial if it is necessary. If i am unable to be at my house to film the commercial, i plan on filming at the grocery store. The mom would be taking her two kids grocery shopping with her, and they would be bugging her saying they want to go "this way" into an aisle. They would lead her down the aisle and into the cereal section, where they would pick up their favorite cereal, Honey Nut Cheerios.

Hello! Over the past couple of days, my team and I have been meeting to discuss and add sound to our project.  I thought this would be one of the easiest parts of the process, but I was very wrong. I think this has been one of the hardest aspects of creating our video. We didn't think it would take longer, so we all met on google meets one day like we usually do, and started thinking about which music to use. We all started looking through youtube to find copyright-free sounds we could use, but after about half an hour ago, we realized it was useless. Creative Critical Reflection for Honey Nut Cheerios Commercial

     While making my product, I used many food advertisement conventions, since my goal was to make a commercial for a Honey Nut Cheerios, which is a cereal brand. While doing my research, I found out that one of the conventions they use the most is having families or kids in their advertisements. This is because cereal brands like Cheerios' customers are mainly women older than 40 years old with families. Including families in their commercials help them stir feelings and appeal to their demographic. Because of this, I decided to include a family in my commercial too.      Also, I had a mom and her two kids together, and throughout the commercial, they have a conflict over the cheerios. This was one way my commercial challenged conventions. Usually, cereal commercials have kids or families playing together, instead of fighting. Introduction to the Music Video Project

     Today I started the process of producing the music video project. For this project, I decided to work with 3 of my friends who are also taking the media studies class. These are Abigail Koppel, Ashlyn Young and Jessica Guerra.     I chose to work with a group so I would be able to split the amount of work with someone. I chose these people because I have previous experience working with them. At first, I was planning to do it with only one person, but then we all talked about it and decided to work together. We've known each other for years and have worked in many group projects together, so I already know what to expect.  I'm more comfortable working with them since I know they will all work hard and we will end up with a high-quality product.
